In other news, I was reading an article this morning about a man who impersonated his mother for 6 years, using her identity to collect over $100,000 in social security and disability benefits (which, over a span of six years, I don’t think that surmounts to more than 17K a year). Anyway, what I thought was particularly funny about this story is that the man agreed to meet with authorities, but also dressed up in his ‘mother’ get-up. This is what he had to say later on about the whole situation:
"I held my mother when she was dying and breathed in her last breath, so I am my mother". Sounds like a serious case of a Psycho fan. You can read the full article here: http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/06/17/ny.mother.impersonation/index.html
In other other news, I finished reading The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath last week and am currently writing a mini review on that. Not that I have anything astounding to say about it, but just some thoughts I had while reading it. Currently, I’m reading Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, which I must say, is pretty amazing so far.
And, if anyone reads this at all, please leave me an “I do” in my comments. And then I can live happily ever after until death do me part.
